So far so good in Japan. I feel comfortable here; found a place to live off-base (move in mid-June), have everything sorted out with the Navy about being here (pay, check-in misc tasks). Haha, I do plan to learn some Japanese while here, the Family Support Center on base starts their classes this Thursday night. About getting a GTR - I talked to someone on base who has a R32 GTR, and asked him to point me in the right direction for availabililty and a good deal. He said to expect to spend in the $9000 - $12000 range for a decent R32 GTR, but I couldn't justify that because I won't be at this base for more than 6 months out of the year. Going to bounce between Misawa and Kadena. And... there wouldn't be an easy way to sell it before I leave in two years, the newcomers to the base (the vast majority) aren't in the market for such an expensive car. Oh well. The WRX does me fine, its turbo, AWD, has a trunk and back seats, and I got it for $3750. I'll be able to resell that pretty easily. Rob
